MyCAREER is always so much fun to play through.

The addition of the WNBA game mode into the game.

Server issues at times waiting for updates or hanging.

The time it takes to earn enough VC without having to buy it with real money.

Sporting games are one of the hardest markets to keep gamers happy as Visual Concepts have to face the tough question of how much do you change a winning formula each year to keep the player base happy, but different enough to make them purchase the new game and entice gamers who have not bought it previously?

Each year the graphics seem to get more lifelike and the gameplay so realistic to the players themselves. From on the court to the cut scenes, you can just imagine the amount of time and effort in production it takes to put it all together in such a way to make it work so well. There are so many modes to choose from to enjoy the game how you like such as controlling your favourite franchise, build a fantasy team, competing online, or controlling one character throughout their career.

The MyCAREER mode is the major change each year with a new storyline to take your character through from College through to life in the NBA. This year see’s your character sit out the final game in College to protest a friend’s lost scholarship through injury. From the fallout from this, you must prove yourself worthy of a spot on an NBA roster. It I truly like being in a movie and the actors in it, such as Idris Elba as your coach only make it more believable and real. Choose what type of player and basic skills he will have and as you are successful through games and training you will earn more Virtual Currency to build those skills and become a force in the NBA. Some of the complaints about this have been that VC can be bought by real dollars to bypass the grind and just make your player great from the start.

MyGM and MyLEAGUE allow you to take over the franchise and give you that full experience of it all. Players can also venture into MyNEIGHBORHOOD to go shopping or for a quick game of pickup. Also in NBA 2K20 the addition of the WNBA is a welcome one and is just as fun to play through the season as it is the NBA. I am sure in the future we will see MyCAREER options to choose a female athlete and enter the WNBA.

Overall it is such a fun game to play and seems to get better each year with new additions, storylines and gameplay. It is the most complete and fun sports game to play and beating friends online is a great bonus.
