    Pros:

Dwayne and Kevin’s impressions of the 2 older Dannys.

Actually dealing with a new challenge and not just a rehash.

    Cons:

Is it a negative to have a sad moment towards the end? It is a Jumanji film! Getting the feels!

    Overall:

After moving on with their lives, the gang organise a catch up and then are forced to enter the game once again to save Spencer after he ventures back in to experience of being Doctor Bravestone one again after being disappointed with his own life. Only this time the game has changed and Spencer’s grandfather Eddie and his best friend Milo have been pulled into the game as well.

As in the previous movie, the funniest moments happen while the characters are trying to work out their character and their powers in the game. Obviously getting to see Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart do their best impressions of Danny Devito and Danny Glover is a bonus. You have to feel sorry for Jack Black playing the character that nobody wants to be. Like from one of the lines “How is this guy even a character in the game?” Awkwafina brings an added layer into the group playing Ming, a thief with lock picking skills.

It is great watching the different actors play as different characters as they swap bodies in the game and how they interact as each other. The storyline works well to not just be a rehash to be able to get them in the game and in new surroundings. Having the ‘Mountain’ (Rory McCann) from Game of Thrones as the bad guy – Jurgen the Brutal is a believable adversary to take on a man of Dwayne Johnson’s size. Which is definitely not an easy feat. But with all the action and a heap of laughs, Jumanji: The Next Level is just asking for another sequel.
