Keeps the audience guessing until the end.

Likable characters that make you want to cheer for them.

    Some unbelievable situations.

After the Russian President is held captive after a coup lead by his Defence Minister Dmitri Durov (Michael Gor) it is up to a team of Navy Seals and a submarine Commander Joe Glass (Gerard Butler) to extract him and get to safety before the U.S are blamed and therefore starting WW3.

Most of the time split into 3 parts following the Navy Seals, the U.S Department of Defence and the submarine. The action would be as expected with lots of near misses and lucky breaks, but they are able to create moments to continually keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Gerard has proven himself already able to pull off the most experienced role so is believable as the submarine Commander who relies on his gut when everything is at risk.

This is a good thriller and as long as you can put aside a few unbelievable situations and outcomes, then it is an enjoyable one.
